FEC HEAD OF PROJECTS, NICK POON SHARES HIS THOUGHTS ON THE ANTICIPATED LAUNCH OF ASPEN AT CONSORT PLACE
“Today, I am delighted to be celebrating the latest milestone for one of the new developments which I oversee as Head of Projects at Far East Consortium . Aspen at Consort Place launches today for buyers and investors who wish to be one of the first to purchase a home at this prestigious new development in the dynamic and ever-growing hub of Canary Wharf. What makes Aspen at Canary Wharf so special is the fact that it is anticipated to become one of the tallest residential towers in London – and specifically the 3rd tallest residential tower in Canary Wharf once complete in Q4 2023.
Having worked in Hong Kong for 10 years I am no stranger to tall buildings, working on some of the most distinctive and tallest towers on Hong Kong’s skyline. So it only feels right, that I am continuing this experience in London, as it embraces a new decade of growth and playing my part in creating a new development where every aspect of the design by Pilbrow & Partners and Interiors by Hirsch Bedner Associates will foster community, comfort and wellbeing.
The variety of projects in FEC UK’s pipeline ensures my job is both diverse and challenging, and Aspen at Consort Place promises to be a career highlight. Whilst demolition was completed last year and basement works has just begun, when the full construction begins in summer 2020, we will be utilising many smart solutions to ensure that our neighbours, local residents and the wider community can go about their daily life with as little disruption as possible. We are also looking to procure as much pre-fabrication as possible off-site andhave undertaken extensive logistical planning to work within the tight technical parameters of the site and with the multitude of utilities and services along Marsh Wall.
It seems fitting that this Chinese New Year, we will also be celebrating the launch of Apsen at Consort Place tonight. My colleagues are busy preparing for the formal launch event on the 39th floor of Novotel Canary Wharf – which will be our direct neighbour, sitting beside the new community realm of Consort Place and adjacent to the two towers in the heart of the project. The prestigious design-focussed Aspen tower will comprise 65 storeys and include a wellness suite and Private Members Club-style facilities, and a second tower of 35 storeys will feature a mixed-use residential tower surrounded by a restaurant, bars and cafés which the local community can enjoy."
